In 2004, owners Naftaly and Ofer missed the authentic Mediterranean food they grew up with, but couldn't find any local options to satisfy their craving. 

Oasis Falafel was born.

Using original family recipes, they took matters into their own hands and started a food cart in Iowa City selling their falafel and hummus.

It quickly proved popular and the brick-and-mortar Oasis Falafel was opened on Linn Street, becoming an Iowa City staple to the locals.
