The Iowa Food Hub is a an outgrowth of years of community conversations around food system challenges and opportunities in northeast Iowa. These conversations focused on how a community-based food system should be supported by the community.
IFH is a joint project and unites the missions of these three organizations:
The NE Iowa Food & Farm Coalition (NIFF) is a network of stakeholders across the value chain - from farm to fork. Their mission is to create opportunities for new and existing farmers to engage in the local and regional food system.
The NE Iowa Food and Fitness Initiative is working to ensure that all residents and guests have access to locally grown, healthy food and opportunities for physical activity every day. FFI is grounded in the work of these core partners: ISU Extension and Outreach, Luther College Center for Sustainable Communities, Upper Explorerland Regional Planning Commission, Northeast Iowa Community College and Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque.
Allamakee New Beginnings, Inc. (ANB) is a 501(c)3 non-profit whose mission is to lessen the effects of poverty by investing in families and individuals through education and collaboration. They sponsor and support community programs that will help communities thrive.
