About Us
Located on a 20-acre stretch of land on the outskirts of Iowa City, Lucky Star Farm is home to about 100 chickens, a small flock of turkeys & ducks, a dozen goats, a couple of dogs and six llamas. Owned and operated by Susan & Rich Young, we are dedicated to organic practices and currently offer pasture raised eggs year-round. We raise turkeys for the holidays and milk a small number of Nigerian dwarf does.
Practices:
Chickens, ducks and turkeys are pasture-raised and rotationally-grazed. When possible, we feed our birds organically and follow animal welfare approved practices to raise our eggs, milk, and meat.
